How powerful is static electricity? - static electricity effect on wristwatch

Since my father the other day was the shock of static electricity damaging e almost everything he touched and wondered if static electricity to electronic devices such as CD, DVD, mobile phone or other device? Just curious about the causes and effects of static electricity, because he exhibited a strong shock, the other day.

Well, the law of the winter and there is little moisture in the air, static electricity is now clear that the rest of the year. CDs and DVDs are not really electronically so that they are safe. Cell phones and electronics is a bit complicated.

On the other hand, the static electricity of the lightning, things are serious and it's great.

It is a huge problem in the treatment circuit. There are special pachages addressed, and if the workers handling should wear a grounding strap. It's a little something new Streets RoHS compliant, which directly deals with the problems of static electricity. If something is RoHS-compliant, then it is affected by static electricity, and produces no static electricity. The carpet is not compatible with ROHS! CD and DVD storage devices are not electronic devices. There are at semiconductor / in them. Only players.
